Took a ride up the coast today. Just magnificent. Once we passed Oxnard (i just like saying Oxnard), the coastal highway is breathtaking. Had lunch on the ocean in Santa Barbara. That Oprah is onto something. Took the kids, and my lactose intolerant self, for the most ridiculous ice cream cones at McConnells - both places recommended by Giada. And thanks to my wife's non-job job, we will be staying at the Dolphin Bay resort in Pismo Beach for two glorious nights. Did I mention the kids came with. And two dogs. Great resort right on the ocean. And they even give us an ocean sound machine in the room - kinda redundant. Off to dinner. More tomorrow.
