Uh....nevermind
Well, it looks like we are still here. Which is more than I can say for Twinkies. And who wants to live in a world without Twinkies. Not the Zombies. Wait, they're undead. I do, that's who. At least we still have Leucadia donuts!
It might not be the end of the world, but it is looking like the demise of the blog. The trilogy is complete. Posts have been few and far between. Life keeps getting in the way. Speaking of life, big things coming. The p's 50th, Josh's bm, Jilly's 10th annum, and a speedy recovery for The Peeper!
Anyway, it's almost a new year. 2013: The End of 2012. Dun, dun, duhhhhhh.....

Cancel the Apocalypse
All is right with the world. The Flubbies have spoken. The 2012 regular baseball season is over. Although for the Cubs, their season ended closer to June 1. Lovable losers - not so much - just losers. They went 61 and 101 for their most losses since dropping 103 games in 1966 - and that turned out to be a banner year!

Eddie V's with the P's...
...there was incredible decadence, there was bloodshed, and there was small children trying crab and oysters for the first time. And...what a view! "Take that, Steve and Joy"

Labor Day
Today we celebrate labor day. Commemorating all the Mom's that went into labor in order to deliver their offspring. But why just celebrated the Mom's. I did a lot of the work (holding up my wife's head and legs) and taking most of the abuse (without any of the benefit of the pain medicine). No wait...this can't be right.
Today we celebrate labour day, commemorating the central-left U.K. political party. No wait...
Today we celebrate the small Slovenian village of Labor. No...
Actually, we celebrate the American worker. Of which I am one again. And boy have I been working...60+ hour weeks. But it has been enjoyable, stressful, but enjoyable. And hopefully soon, fruitful. Cause I like fruit.
But really, today marks the unofficial end of summer. The summer of Josh and Jill and unlimited freedom (and Minecraft and Animal Jam). They spent quality time with their friends and grandparents and even Neil Diamond (talk about a man who continues to labor...he rocked Anaheim). Junior Guards and Camp James.
But thank the lords of Parliament that school starts up again this week...or it would be off to Labor, Slovenia with the both of them.

Olympicopalypse
Ridonculous -- how high above the beam she is! |
So, it wouldn't be a blog about 2012 without a mention of the fabulous London games that just finished. I am going through withdrawals. Some memorable things we'll probably not see again in my lifetime (or at least until Rio):
- Michael Phelps winning 23,000 medals in swimming
- Kerry and Misty Mae three-peating at beach volleyball. It is amazing how they cover the entire court on that thick sand.
- Usain Bolt completing a double - triple, looking like he never even reaches full speed everytime he runs.
- Gabby Douglas becoming the first African-American to win all round gymnastics gold
- Aly Raisman sticking up for Jewish olympians everywhere
- The Spice Girls re-uniting (at least, I hope we don't have to see this again)

Apocalypse Update:
Today there were two, not one, but two earthquakes. And my old blog post "Yiddish words for penis" is trending. That is all. Carry on.
