HiToday in class Josh and a friend sang a pretty good rendition of a Frank Sinatra song. Unfortunately, it was unsolicited and at an inappropriate time. I have enjoyed Josh's sense of humor and he has been charming and eager to participate thus far. He seems to be receptive to the recent change in teachers, too. After getting to know him, I do not find this behavior disrespectful nor malicious, just ill-timed. He did stop when I asked him to, which is good. If he continues to make these kind of choices, then he will earn a "U" in citizenship. I don't want to see that happen. He is bright and capable and I would like to see him putting his efforts into contributing positively to the classroom environment. I hope you can speak with him about doing his best in English for as long as he is in my class.
